Gstaad Art, a new salon art event, holds its inaugural weekend this Saturday, February 17 through Sunday, February 18. “A celebration of the finer things in life,” the fair will feature presentations from 20 leading international galleries, including Perrotin, Gallerie Mitterand, Air De Paris, and White Cube, among others. Alongside exploring special projects, guests are encouraged to enjoy skiing, soirées, and more for the specially curated cultural weekend in the Alps.

Gstaad Art Debuts as an Art and Design-Filled Salon

Alongside these design and art showcases, the first “Circus” series will premiere. Writer and curator Piper Marshall collaborated with artists Kolja Gläser and Cammisa Buerhaus to curate the 60-artist exhibition (conceptualized by artistic director X Zhu-Nowell) entitled “Artist’s Scores, Scenarios, and Instructions.”  The exhibition will emphasize the “wit and play” of the participating artists by interspersing magazines, poetry, and advice in an unconventional collection that asks its viewers to participate. The work will be displayed in a scenography designed by the Parisian architectural studio Roll. As part of this collection and others, visitors can expect to see pieces by Goshka Macuga, Joe Andoe, François Xavier Lalanne, Liam Gillick, Alan Ruiz, Chloe Wise, and others.

A Weekend of Alpine Elegance

Gstaad Art will present in collaboration with Phillips, Montres Journe, Ruinart, and clothing brand Sease. The “weekend filled with art, laughter, and alpine elegance” will open from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Festival-Zelt, Gstaad, and offers free admission to all.
