For the Whitewaller Miami issue, out next week for Art Basel in Miami Beach, we handpicked a few insiders—a select group of those in-the-know on all things Miami—that shared with us how to navigate the city this fall. Here, we have Franklin Sirmans, Director of Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), share his top spots to eat, drink, network, and relax this week.
WHERE TO EAT
Verde at PAMM on Biscayne Bay for Sunday brunch. Be sure to say, “hi!” to Chef Kaytlin Brakefield who keeps the menu changing all week during lunchtime. My favorite dish is the Farro Bowl. The hosts and wait staff make pretty much any special requests happen. Clive’s Cafe in Little Haiti for the chicken patties and the rice and peas. Alter in Wynwood for Chef Bradley Kilgore’s creative experiments in comfort food.
WHERE TO SIP
For the artists and art workers, 1306 is a beautiful, little place in Overtown/downtown/ Omni, and Churchill’s Pub is a homey dive bar in Little Haiti.
WHERE TO SEE ART
PAMM and MoCA North Miami.
WHERE TO HAVE FUN
Pérez Art Museum Miami and Miami’s tennis courts and golf courses all over the place…
WHERE TO RELAX
The Standard Spa Miami Beach.
TOP SHOWS TO SEE IN MIAMI
“Julio Le Parc: Form into Action” at PAMM.
