The Christie’s Vanity Fair Contemporary Art Party was one of the most sought-after events of Frieze last week in London. Co-hosted with the Saatchi Gallery, the October 16th party was held on several floors of an enormous industrial space known at The Sorting Depot, a former postal office.
During the event Francis Outred, Christie’s Head of Post-War and Contemporary Art Europe, auctioned the Piper-Heidsieck Nebuchadnezzar of Champagne, painted by Tracey Emin, whose enormous bed from her exhibition “Everyone I Ever Slept with” was also on display. Proceeds from the auction go to a charity of Emin’s choosing, the Terrence Higgins Trust, which promotes support for patients of HIV/AIDS.
