Moncler‘s guests were transported to a land of mountain and forest inside the cupola of Gotham Hall last Saturday as the brand presented its fall/winter 2013–2014 collection during New York Fashion Week. 370 male and female models stood along five raised rows while a mirror hanging from the ceiling cast their reflections across the room.
Those looking for a range of colors in the company’s latest collection will have to wait for another season. Green was the dominant hue. The brand’s goal was to capture and translate the majesty of nature while simultaneously reflecting the importance of the natural world and the flora and fauna that bring life to the Alpine peaks. Touches of brown, ruddy red, navy, and violet, added some diversity to the green scheme.
Style and performance continued to be improved upon this season. New engineering allowed for updated waterproofing and breathability in the braid-effect fleeces introduced for women. The men’s line focused on graphic symbols and re-imagined classics like tweed and dogtooth.
