This week, Whitewall kept busy at the various art fairs, the end of fashion week in Paris, while still allotting time to attend a few after-hours events. Below, we’re giving you a peek at what we celebrated this week.
On Tuesday, we traveled down to Omar’s in New York for dinner with 1stdibs. Joined by the brand’s Chief Commercial Officer, Christina Miller, was Editor-in-Chief of Introspective, Anthony Barzilay-Freund. The duo hosted an intimate dinner to celebrate Sarah Harrelson, Editor and Founder of CULTURED magazine, and the newly released CULTURED Commission by textile artist and sculptor Dana Barnes. Artists, collectors, gallerists and more (like Maria Brito, Athena Calderone, Dennis Freedman, Evan Synderman, and Yvonne Force Villareal, Anne Pasternak, Michael Reynolds, and Don, Mera, and Jennifer Rubell) joined to recognize the outstanding limited-edition works, available online.

From there, we made our way to the public opening of Legacy Records—the new restaurant within Henry Hall, a stunning development in Hudson Yards. The two-floor space (including a main dining room, an all-day coffee bar, a private dining room, and an upstairs bar) is complete with designer Ken Fulk’s signature layering of colors, textures, and patterns.
The same night in Paris, Miu Miu celebrated its Fall/Winter 2018 collection with an after party at Hotel Bourbon. Guests like Elle Fanning, Melanie Laurent, Morgane Polanski, David Harbour, Paul Dano, and Rami Male were seen enjoying the celebratory vibes, with music by London-based DJ Siobhan Bell.

On Wednesday, we stopped by The Armory Party at MoMA. The night’s benefit welcomed a true celebration for the art fair, known globally as a cultural destination, providing access to “Collection Galleries 1800s-1950s.” The night also featured a DJ set by Washed Out and a special performance by BØRNS in the Agnes Gund Garden Lobby. Guests were treated to past songs from his debut album Dopamine, but also new ones from the recently released Blue Madonna.
And yesterday in London, apparel and homegoods label TOAST celebrated an installation by Phoebe Cummings entitled “Season.” Exhibited in Shoreditch’s Protein Studios through March 13, the installation reflects TOAST’s Spring/Summer collection, “Elements of Materiality.” Exploring the possibilities of clay as a material, Cummings builds the sculpture and explores its changes by elements, such as fire, water, and air.
