For this edition of Friday Fête, we’re sharing the last week’s happenings, including Halloween celebrations with The Standard and The Blond, a pop-up by The Arrivals, and more.
Over the weekend, we stopped by the New York City pop-up shop of The Arrivals—created in partnership with the upcoming Brooklyn experiential shop, Early Spring. A 2,000-square-foot experiential shop called the OutThere Lab uses color, sound, and light to create weather-specific environments in which the brand’s Fall/Winter 2019 collection is displayed against. Inspired by the concept that modern technology and industrialization have led humans to spend more time indoors, the pop-up’s goal is to inspire shoppers to get back “OutThere.”

On Saturday, The Standard hotel hosted a spooky western showdown at the Top of The Standard. Guests like Aurora James, Emily Bode, Patrick Church, Nicky Hilton, Brian Atwood, Gigi Burris, and Haider Ackerman attended the Halloween bash, which transformed the venue into a cowboy’s retreat, decked out in stacks of skulls, tumbleweeds, and swinging saloon doors. Partygoers danced to music by DJ Quiana Sparks and Stretch Armstrong as pageant contestants of the Drop Dead Gorgeous competition paraded through the space. The night was complete when Mya took the stage at midnight, performing a set of her most iconic songs like Ghetto Superstar and Lady Marmalade.
On Tuesday, Lincoln celebrated the release of its new luxury SUV, the Lincoln Aviator, with a dinner at New York City’s Union West. In addition to a delicious evening meal, attendees were some of the first to experience the Aviator, which offers a new level of performance thanks to its twin-turbocharged engine and advance electrified hybrid technology.

On Wednesday at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), the institution hosted more than 300 guests for the 2019 Contemporary Vision Award dinner, hosted with the support of Max Mara and Wells Fargo. Honoring architect, inventor, designer, and professor Neri Oxman, guests like William Ackman, Susan Swig, Helen Hilton Raiser, Judgie Graham, Matt Bradie, and Scott Dadich came together to enjoy an evening meal, followed by a conversation with Oxman and Jennifer Dunlop Fletcher and an award presentation.
Also Wednesday at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), over 2,000 guests joined for a preview of Julie Mehretu’s mid-career survey exhibition, which opens November 3 with the support of Max Mara. During the evening, guests like Catherine Opie, Benedikt Taschen, Lauren Halsey, Charles Gaines, Thomas Houseago, Bettina Korek, and Thelma Golden enjoyed after-hours museum access and musical entertainment by DJ Rashida.

And last night at 11 Howard in New York, The Blond threw the ultimate 7 Deadly Sins Halloween party. The haunting night featured drinks by Ketel One and Don Julio and an immersive theater experience, in which each of the seven deadly sins came to life throughout the hotel. The highlight of the evening was held on the main floor—Lust, a blowout dance party that hosted costumed guests into the early hours of the morning.
