We’re looking back on Stockholm Fashion Week, where houses like Acne Studios, Rodebjer, BLK DNM, and more debuted their latest collections.

Acne Studios’ latest debuts were introduced through a photo series shot by Anders Endström in Frihamnen, Stockholm. Aiming to transcend location in order to build a world he wants to see, Endström took to ambiguous settings like stairwells and waterfronts to capture the offbeat garments. The collection featured a spontaneously graffiti-esque “Welcome to Stockholm” print seen on pieces like mesh tops, jersey sweatshirts, and skirts with suspenders.

Rodebjer’s commitment to creating a thoughtful uniform that can be worn in the everyday brought us a selection of unique pieces inspired by the wunderkammer, or cabinet of curiosities. Focused on function, beauty, and sustainability, we saw a series of outerwear suitable for several temperatures—our favorite was a short 1960s-inspired coat with a faux collar, made from recycled wool—warm, intimate knits made from reused nylon and cashmere, and a selection of dresses, skirts, and shirting embodying a retro-modern elegance.

The label HOPE is committed to creating timeless designs that inspire and encourage individual style. In its Fall/Winter 2021 collection, the house studied and redefined the idea of space in relation to one’s self, executed with the use of minimal details, fluid materials (like silk rayon velvet, satin, and hammered organza), and a mixture of fitted and tailored or gently-draped silhouettes that allowed easy movement.

Denim-centric fashion house BLK DNM continued its tradition of introducing a selection of individual items for Fall/Winter 2021, opposed to an entire collection. Numbering each design, the house introduced pieces like Jeans 5 and Leather jacket 18, focused on offering styles that will be loved and used for years to come.

Focused on sophisticated leather goods at an accessible price point, Stand Studio returned with a selection of accessories and ready-to-wear designs that will make versatile, ultra-wearable additions to any wardrobe. Infused with Scandinavian simplicity and an effortless chicness, we saw pieces like a button-up dress in black alligator leather, a largely-quilted handbag in white, and a button-up shirt with Western fringe across the shoulders.

Weekday’s debuts at Stockholm Fashion Week were the product of an experimental workshop conducted with support from Studio Made. The house introduced a selection of streetwear-style garments from its upcoming Plant Based Limited Edition collection, composed of denim made from hemp fiber, dyed using natural materials like pomegranate peel, red onion, avocado, rust, alum, and copperas.
