Valentino Announces Takeover of the Venice Arsenale for Couture Show

No contributor

Valentino and Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli announced that the maison’s upcoming Haute Couture presentation will take place in Venice, inside the city’s Gaggiandre at the Arsenale. Valentino will take over the exclusive waterfront location on July 15, at 7:30 P.M. local time for the debut.

Valentino chose the location of the historic structure comprised of two cavernous shipyards and a dock (which is also the ongoing home to La Biennale di Venezia) in tribute to the magnificent city and its rich cultural heritage. For the occasion, the original structure will act as a frame for the new designs, while remaining largely untouched by the house.

To be seen both in-person and virtually, Valentino has created an accompanying all-white streaming kit to ensure an enjoyable experience for guests near and far. The kit will consist of sustainably sourced, hand-crafted paper and cardboard, and will remain 100 percent free of plastic—as to be expected from all presentations to come, in accordance with a constantly expanding focus on sustainable and responsible fashion practices put in place by the house.

Leading up to the runway show, Valentino has also sponsored the 49th iteration of the International Theatre Festival – Bienalle Teatro 2021, which is open through July 11, working in partnership with La Biennale di Venezia.
