On the heels of a highly memorable Miami Art Week filled with scintillanting exhibitions and gatherings, Adam Lindenmann, the esteemed New York-based gallerist, art collector, writer, and founder of Venus Over Manhattan gallery, sits down with Whitewall to meditate on his favorite moments, surprises, and more.
Best Events
I didn’t go to any really, I went to a big dinner at friends homes and they were great.
Best Shows
I lined Tanaami at the ICA and Rachel’s show at the Bass, but I didn’t see anything else it was overwhelming.
Best Moment
When the masses rolled into the fair, sitting on my chairs. I had to remove them.
Best Surprise
My gallery VENUS had a great fair with really good collectors.
Best Vibe
I liked Beth de Woody’s Bunker space, curated by Maynard Monroe and Kyle de Woody, that was by far the best vibe but it’s in PB.
Best Discovery (artist or performer)
I liked Dani Orchard’s work, and my Anastasia Bay install at Meridians was beautiful. I met with the seller of the banana and he surprised me quite a bit too.
