The esteemed New York-based gallerist, art collector, writer, and founder of Venus Over Manhattan gallery, sits down with Whitewall to speak about the best shows, vibes, and discoveries in Miami.

On the heels of a highly memorable Miami Art Week filled with scintillanting exhibitions and gatherings, Adam Lindenmann, the esteemed New York-based gallerist, art collector, writer, and founder of Venus Over Manhattan gallery, sits down with Whitewall to meditate on his favorite moments, surprises, and more.

Best Events

I didn’t go to any really, I went to a big dinner at friends homes and they were great.

Best Shows

Rachel Feinstein Courtesy of The Bass Museum and Rachel Feinstein. Photo by Zaire Aranguren.

I lined Tanaami at the ICA and Rachel’s show at the Bass, but I didn’t see anything else it was overwhelming.

Best Moment

When the masses rolled into the fair, sitting on my chairs. I had to remove them.

Best Surprise

My gallery VENUS had a great fair with really good collectors.

Best Vibe

I liked Beth de Woody’s Bunker space, curated by Maynard Monroe and Kyle de Woody, that was by far the best vibe but it’s in PB.

Best Discovery (artist or performer)

Installation view of Anastasia Bay: Installation view of Anastasia Bay: “Maestra Lacrymae, Acte V,” Venus Over Manhattan’s presentation at Meridians, Art Basel Miami Beach, 2024. Courtesy the artist and Venus Over Manhattan, New York.

I liked Dani Orchard’s work, and my Anastasia Bay install at Meridians was beautiful. I met with the seller of the banana and he surprised me quite a bit too.
