This week in Madrid, the international contemporary art fair ARCOmadrid descends upon the IFEFA MADRID exhibition center, currently on view through March 9.

Vitality and cutting-edge artistry within the Spanish art landscape will be illuminated in the General Program, debuting galleries like Alarcón Criado, ATM, Elba Benítez, Elvira González, CarrerasMugica, Luis Adelantado Valencia, Nordés, Prats Nogueras Blanchard, ProjecteSD, Sabrina Amrani and T20. International spaces including carlier | gebauer and Mai 36 have concurrently unveiled art galleries in Spain, showing their dedication to the country’s vibrant and evolving creative communities.

ARCOmadrid draws in the world’s leading art enthusiasts and professionals this year with a captivating lineup of international galleries in conversation with local institutions. New participants from around the world include Massimo Minini and Francesca Minini, Casas Riegner depéndance, Gomide&Co, Plan B, Luciana Brito, Bernier/Eliades, Raquel Arnaud, Sylvia Kouvali, and Waddington Custot.
Esteemed and beloved spaces also return to the prestigious fair, like Thaddaeus Ropac, Jocelyn Wolff, Chantal Crousel, Ruth Benzacar, Peter Kilchmann, Lelong, Meyer Riegger, Perrotin, neugerriemschneider, Esther Schipper, and Thomas Schulte. This year’s spirited edition of the fair launches three meticulously curated categories. Concentrating on the importance and nuances of the Amazon, Wametisé: ideas for an Amazofuturism is curated by Denilson Baniwa and Maria Wills in powerful partnership with the Institute for Postnatural Studies.
This must-see show contemplates revitalized and revolutionary ways of creating among the human, the vegetal, the metaphysical, and so on. 24 artists will be partaking, with notables like Carlos Jacanamijoy with Almine Rech, Naine Terena and Coletivo Mahku with Carmo Johnson Projects, Mapa Teatro with Rolf Art, and Juan Downey with 1 Mira Madrid.

Visitors at ARCOmadrid, situated in the city’s arts hub, will discover vital, forward-thinking endeavors through the fair’s allegiance to emerging art spaces. Opening. New galleries welcomes returning young local and international galleries including Artbeat, Blue Velvet, Fermay, Eins Gallery and Remota, in addition to brand new participants like Callirrhoë, El Chico, Brigitte Mulholland and Reservoir.
Further, Profiles | Latin American art enriches the significant historical relationship between the fair and Latin American artworks. Expertly curated by José Esparza Chong Cuy, offering a single creative per gallery allows for majestic focus and clarity. Creations by 10 artists are unearthed in this section, embracing Bárbara Sánchez Kan with Kurimanzutto, Dan Lie with Barbara Wien, Chaveli Sifre with Embajada, and more.
