Art Paris Art Fair took place at the Grand Palais April 5-8. The 20th edition of the brought together 142 galleries from 23 countries.
There was a focus on the French art scene via a selection of work by 20 artists, from the 1960s to today, brought together by curator and critic François Piron. The fair also honored the country of Switzerland, with a program focused on Swiss art curated by historian Karine Tissot.
Open Gallery
The Promises sector, proved to be our favorite, featuring young galleries and emerging artists. Each of the 12 gallerists were invited to present a maximum of three artists. There, the second edition of the L’art est vivant—Promises Prize was awarded to Matthias Schaareman (presented by Rutger Brandt Gallery, Amsterdam) and Tilt (represented by Kolly Gallery, Zürich).
