My first time at Art Basel Miami Beach was in 2003. As a good European I had no clue that Collins Avenue was so long so I booked a hotel that must have been 30 miles away from the convention center and I took the bus every day back and forth. I plan to accomplish another trip to the Everglades and feed alligators with marshmallows.
I prioritize my time by pretending to speak on the phone when I want to avoid somebody.
Miami isn’t over because the weather is just perfect. My advice for a ABMB first timer is book your hotel in July.
Every year I make sure I have at least one meal at any corner store that makes greasy Cuban sandwiches.
My hotel of choice is Eden Roch. At the end of the night you would used to be able to find me at the Deuce (when I was younger). Now I’m usually in bed by 11PM.
The event I won’t miss this year is the Rubell’s breakfast extravaganza.
You won’t see me without my husband who most likely will also be pretending to speak on the phone to avoid people.
I’ll go to the beach if I feel like some sun and sand.
