The Broad is currently exhibiting a major show of work by artist Cindy Sherman which opened June 8 with more than 120 works on view. The show marks Sherman’s return to Los Angeles after 19 years.
To celebrate, Eli and Edythe Broad, Joanne Heyler, guest curator Philipp Kaiser, and the artist hosted a preview of the exhibition for a select group last week. Attendees in Los Angeles included China Chow, Michael Chow, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Guest, Lisa Edelstein, and Robert Russell.

Filling The Broad’s first floor galleries, the work included spans from 1975 to 2016, encompassing Sherman’s influential 40-year career. A group of large-scale, site-specific murals, entitled “Cindy Sherman: Imitation of Life,” is also on view, showcasing the interaction of the artist and the film industry, inspired by themes of self-identity and stereotypes. The exhibit will run from June 11—October 2.
