Last night, Dior debuted “Dior Lady Art” at the brand’s Miami Design District Boutique. The project asked seven contemporary artists—Mat Collishaw, Ian Davenport, Daniel Gordon, Chris Martin, Jason Martin, Matthew Porter, and Marc Quinn—to reimagine accessories like the classic Lady Dior bag, resulting in a limited-edition collection, available this week at the Miami story.
Collishaw, for instance, printed a detail of one his works on the glazed leather of the bag, a clutch, and silk scarf. A burst of butterfly wings in golden yellow, orange, and a brown-and-white pattern covers one set, and a closeup of a single wing in bright blue on the other. The artist works in video and photography, seductively capturing elements of nature and life.

For the cocktail event, guests were the first to see the commissioned collection in-person, while enjoying champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and music by DJ Pascal Moscheni. Attendees included Collishaw, Davenport, Martin, and Porter, as well as Chelsea Leyland, Petra Němcová, Martha Graeff, Derek Blasberg, Laura Love, Inés Rivero, Charlotte Sarkozy, Khotan Fernandez, Hassan Pierre, Craig Robins, Danielle Bernstein, Alexandre de Betak, Maria Baibakova, Chloe Wise, Josh Wood, Philip Levine, and James Goldstein.
