On March 23, Diplo and FriendsWithYou launched an NFT collaboration on the digital art sale platform Nifty Gateway. Titled Cloud10, the animation features artwork by the collective’s Arturo Sandoval II and Samuel Borkson, accompanied by a soundtrack from the musician and his label Higher Ground.

“We are so happy to be entering this space and community that we feel represents artistic autonomy in a way that we have yet to see in our civilization,” said FriendsWithYou. “We feel artist empowerment will lead to a better world as we collaborate with musicians, tech and scientists to bring about a new renaissance. We can’t wait to see how this evolves the arts and humanity as a whole—it may be the key to a unified planet.”
With a total of 10 parts featuring names like Wishing Star and Friendly Skies, the animations present FriendsWithYou’s signature bright and bubbly aesthetic, including upbeat characters like clouds, rainbows, and stars, moving in turn with Diplo’s original music. Each of the works is available in editions ranging in price and numbers (like the one-of-one Little Big Cloud or the 500-edition Happy Coin), including a special open edition listed for $500, which will see all proceeds go to benefit the non-profits P.S. Arts, Arts for Learning, and Free Arts NYC.

“I’ve been collecting NFTs for a little bit and supporting some of my friends, fellow producers and favorite revolutionary creators and I hope that this is just the beginning,” Diplo said.
