The 16th edition of ZONAMACO México Arte Contemporáneo takes place this week, February 6—10. More than 180 exhibitors from 22 countries will present work from the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Taking place at Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City, it is the most important Latin American art fair for modern and contemporary art. ZONAMACO Diseño, curated by Cecilia León de la Barra, now in its ninth year, will present collectible design objects, as well.
Exhibitors in the main section include Ben Brown, Galleria Continua, Gaga, The Hole, Kasmin, Sean Kelly, kurimanzutto, MAIA Contemporary, OMR, PROYECTOSMONCLOVA, Almine Rech, Skarstedt, and others.
José Esparza Chong Cuy curated the New Proposals section—including presenters like ATM, CASSINA PROJECTS, PATRON, Sindicato, and Vigo—features imaginative and experimental works by artists.
Kiki Mazzucchelli curated the ZONAMACO SUR section focused on performative pieces. Participating galleries include Arsenal Habana, C24 Gallery, Copperfield, Maëlle, Carrie Secrist Gallery, Y Gallery, and more.
The fair also features this week a series of conversations, ZONAMACO Books, and parallel exhibitions at galleries and museums throughout Mexico City.
