In this vein, a flurry of solo, dual, and themed presentations will beguile international fairgoers at Frieze New York 2025. Hyundai Gallery unveils new explorations by skillful contemporary artist MOON Kyungwon, and Perrotin debuts a solo show delving into the nuances of human relationships by Claire Tabouret. Group exhibitions showcase critical themes and spark global dialogues. Karma highlights cross-generational visionaries like Alan Saret, Jeremy Frey, Tamo Jugeli, Tabbboo!, Maja Ruznic, Jonas Wood, and Thaddeus Mosley. The Boundary-Breaking Focus Platform Unfolds at The Shed

The ever-vibrant Focus platform of Frieze, highlighting premier emerging galleries, is expertly led by curator and writer Lumi Tan. This section will offer gems like “The Bewitched Surfers and the Holy Barnacles” by artist Yehwan Song and G Gallery (Seoul). Here, Song probes the deceptions of the internet through an experiential installation of cardboard and projection mapping. In addition, Public Gallery (London) brings a solo booth of deft creative Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley, who offers an interactive journey through Black trans experiences by way of engaging sound, gaming, and animation.
“I’m particularly thrilled that this year’s Focus section is able to support an increased international presence, with galleries from Seoul, Singapore, London, Kyiv, and Biarritz joining returning galleries from Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, and Lisbon, while celebrating the resilient ecosystem of young galleries in New York,” said Tan.

“The ambitious presentations across the section demonstrate the imperative role of artists in complicating neatly packaged narratives around the individual and society, taking on subjects such as the effects of extractive commercial and military industries, the feminist repositioning of story-telling traditions, and the new imaginaries that result from the translation of digital engagements into physical encounters.”
Must-See Programming and Activations at Frieze

Much-anticipated programming at this year’s fair includes High Line Art with a brand new, meditative commission by the visionary Pilvi Takala, masterfully curated by Taylor Zakarin. Further, in critical support of the Coalition for the Homeless, the iconic Artist Plate Project unfolds with 50 limited-edition plates by luminaries such as Takashi Murakami, Alexander Calder, Amy Sherald, Lawrence Weiner, and many more.
Finally, within the must-see partner activations at Frieze, be sure to explore groundbreaking luxury beauty brand THE WHOO’s U.S. debut. Remarkable South Korean female artists Ok Kim, Subin Seol, and Jian Yoo breathe new life into traditional Korean craftsmanship by way of ceramics, ott-chil lacquer, and mother-of-pearl for our ever-evolving, modern landscape.
Frieze New York 2025 Gallery Highlights
James Cohan

Perceptive artist Tuan Andrew Nguyen raises the curtain on a riveting solo show of new work alongside James Cohan. Within The Shed, mesmeric sculptures showcase fragments of unexploded ordnances (UXOs). These chilling objects of war were recovered in the Quảng Trị region of central Vietnam, and Nguyen tenderly reworks them into ethereal and healing works of art.
Mendes Wood DM

Mendes Wood DM celebrates artist Rosana Paulino’s compelling High Line commission. Voyaging through the complex colonial history of Brazil, as well as its lasting influence on Black and Indigenous communities, “The Creation of the Creatures of Day and Night” introduces viewers to Paulino’s powerful Mangrove series. Here, tree-women stand as uplifting, mythological archetypes and radiant symbols of resistance.
Thaddaeus Ropac

Art collectors from around the world will not want to miss the diverse and majestic presentation by Thaddaeus Ropac at Frieze New York 2025. Pioneering works by top artists such as Lee Kang-So, David Salle, Yan Pei-Ming, Megan Rooney, Liza Lou, Martha Jungwirth, Alex Katz, and more engage in lively dialogue. Consider Lee Kang-So’s The Wind Blows-240506 (2024), a shadowy, tantalizing creation of gesture and emotion.
