Aspen Art Museum‘s ArtCrush gala will take place this week, from July 31 to August 2. This annual summer benefit is set to attract hundreds of the world’s top collectors, business leaders, connoisseurs, and curators to Aspen for silent and live auctions.
Last year, the summer benefit raised a total of $1.8 million dollars, breaking its record and setting a tough precedent. This year will mark the first online auction, which was conducted in collaboration with Paddle8.

The summer benefit will also honor Teresita Fernández, recipient of the 2013 Aspen Award for Art. Fernández has been appointed to the US Commission of Fine Arts by President Obama.
Fernández is best known for her sculptural installations, such as Starfield (2008) (located at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium) and her work is in many private and permanent collections all over the world. President Obama appointed Fernández to the US Commission of Fine Arts.

Attendees are also invited to view the latest exhibitions at the Aspen Art Museum. Both “Lorna Simpson: Works on Paper” and a solo exhibition of Hayley Tompkins’s work will be on view.
