Last month, Hauser & Wirth ventured “A Modest Proposal” with a group exhibition. The opening evening kicked off with one of the artists, Nicola L, who performed a short set of live music.
The show features artists that satirically critique the human relationship to the bodily and abject. These artists include artists Lucas Blalock, Naotaka Hiro, Sanya Kantarovsky, Nicola L, Tala Madani, and Jakub Julian Ziolkowsk.

It presents a range of mediums and media with canvas sculptural pieces, digital still-lifes, video, and paintings. This exhibition compels a spectrum of emotions. Hiro Naotaka’s Sixteen Terminals (2016) intrigues viewers with the bronze stripped casting of his own body. Lucas Blalock’s Meathead (2016) print can elicit chuckles, while Tala Madani’s painting The Ritual (2016) permeates a haunting captivation.
The exhibition remains on view at Hauser & Wirth in New York until Friday July 29.
