Today on the digital art sale platform SuperRare, the artist Krista Kim dropped the first-ever NFT digital home. Titled Mars House, the virtual dwelling was created in collaboration with Smashing Pumpkins’ Jeff Schroeder and follows the artist’s use of technology to foster experiences that promote health and well-being.

Mars House is a home existing solely in the virtual realm, doubling as a light sculpture with every surface is illuminated and transformed by LED lights. Completed by a special musical composition from Schroeder, Kim was inspired by the lockdown of the last year to create an atmosphere of healing. The home’s moody rainbow design—including spaces like a living room, bedroom, and pool area—features futuristic furnishings and architecture entirely made up of Kim’s artwork, appearing to exist in mountainous terrain with red skies.
The owner of Mars House NFT will receive the work as a three-dimensional .gitf file and as a UE4 file, which exists in the virtual reality Metaverse. They will also have the opportunity to commission physical versions of the tempered printed glass pieces featured in the home.
