Last night, the National YoungArts Foundation held its second annual New York gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The night, presented in collaboration with Swarovski and Max Mara, raised over half a million dollars and was hosted by honorary co-chairs Debbie Allen, Agnes Gund and Sir Salman Rushdie, and gala co-chairs Sarah Arison and Thomas Wilhelm, and Gillian Hearst Simonds and Christian Simonds.
The celebration of American young artists, including several hundred 2017 YoungArts winners, was emceed by actress Zuzanna Szadkowski and featured performances by Grace Weber, Kate Davis, India Carney, Javon Jones, Kaylin Berg, Jared Brown, Austin Goodwin, Sarah Pippin, Ida Saki, Patrick Bartley, Braxton Cook, Philip Dizack, and Dave Eggar directed by YoungArts alum Jake Goldbas.

Over 270 guests came together for a seated dinner by Restaurant Associates, enjoyed beside the museum’s Temple of Dendur, decorated for springtime by Raul Àvila. Attendees included Carolina García Jayaram, Derrick Adams, Klaus Biesenbach, Plácido Domingo, Naomi Fisher, Olivia Marciano, José Parlá, Taryn Simon, Christian Slater and Brittany Lopez Slater, Dustin Yellin, Maria Giulia Maramotti, Gabriela Hearst, and more.
