The second edition of NOMAD Monaco takes place at the former villa of Karl Lagerfeld, Villa La Vigie, this week from April 26-29. The gorgeous site provides a unique setting for the invitation-only, traveling showcase for collectible design and contemporary art. NOMAD was founded by Giorgio Pace and Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte, who imagined it as a new fair format for the 21st century.
Participating galleries include Alamaki (Tokyo), Galerie BSL (Paris), Heritage Gallery (Moscow), David Gill Gallery (London), Massimo De Carlo (Milan, London, Hong Kong), and Etage Projects (Copenhagen). Previous collaborators have included Rick Owens, Serpentine Galleries, Christophe Graber, and Maison Boghossian.
NOMAD also features a series of engaging events, including performative dinners, private visits to Monaco’s cultural institutions, and other tailor-made experiences. A highlight of this year is a dialogue on design and architecture between Lord Norman Foster and Deyan Sudjic, director of the London Design Museum.
