Serving the People’s New Student-Only Show is Making a Splash Online

No contributor

In 2016, Lucien Smith founded Serving the People (STP)—a creative platform free of commercial bias that gives artists the opportunity to engage with an array of audiences. Today in response to the COVID-19 crisis, STP is celebrating a new online exhibition entitled “The BFA Student Show” that’s open to students only.

“I’m so inspired by the hundreds of submissions we’ve already received. It’s so exciting to see how fast the BFA show is growing, and all the amazing support we are getting from students all around the world is so motivating,” said Smith. “It’s proof to me that a platform like STP is needed and can be versatile and effective even during this crazy time.”

STP’s student-led exhibition features the works of undergraduates currently enrolled in BFA programs around the world, including schools like Rhode Island School of Design, Pratt, Parsons, NYU, CalArts, Central Saint Martins, among others. At the end of the school year, the works will be showcased digitally.

Applications for STP’s “The BFA Student Show” are open through May 15 here.
