Stefan Simchowitz Wraps up LA Art Week

Collector, art dealer, and entrepreneur Stefan Simchowitz divulges the most lively moments of LA Art Week, including a stunning show by Tierra Del Sol Gallery at Felix Art Fair, the delectable roast potatoes at Kismet's mobile kitchen, and more.

The perceptive Stefan Simchowitz is widely known for supporting emerging, contemporary creatives at vital moments in their artistic career. With a unique, personal approach to the art of collecting, the LA-based Simchowitz acts deftly as a collector, dealer and artist advocate. His work and passion for the industry as a whole has initiated vital dialogue on the commercialization of art and the ever-evolving relationship between artists and the global marketplace.

Simchowitz took a moment to reflect on uniting with dynamic art world characters, his favorite Felix Art Fair presentation, and the best culinary delights at Frieze

Lots of Juicy Art World Characters. Loads of Great Artists. Holly Lowen. My Pasadena Show. Self Promotion comes part and parcel with Simco. Ken Taylor works in Pasadena and the SimcoOne Speakers featured.

At Frieze: Tim Blum, Lauren Quinn, Christina Qaurles, Titus Kaphur, Petra Cortright, Kordansky, Adam Cohen, Jason Schwartz, and many more.

Favorites. Kiki Smith Owl. Room 133 at Felix. Paige Wery repping Tierra Del Sol Gallery, my favorite Felix presentation. Paige does G-d’s work supporting the overlooked artists, many with superhuman abilities—we call them disabilities in our society—and they make some of the most beautiful art and my favorite room of Felix. A ceramic model of Medieval Times as an American construct of Jousting and bad food.

There was a great booth at Frieze by Marc Selwyn who always brings a level of discrete and tasteful sophistication, and many many jewels on paper, and these big ceramics that are used to make drums. Then there was the food that was standout at Frieze. Butchers Block, Kismet and Great Pizza. Everything has become so expensive, too expensive, so I focused my activities on the roast potatoes at Kismet’s mobile kitchen which were literally out of this world. Could not recognize half the people because literally EVERYONE has lost so much weight. Thank you the star of Frieze—Ozempic and GLP one class drugs, including myself on my low dose that has curbed my craving for Ice Cream and lost me 20 pounds.

Frieze out! Simco.
