Last weekend, the Storm King Art Center held its sixth annual Summer Solstice party. On view were 2017 exhibitions including, “David Smith: The White Sculptures” and “Outlooks: Heather Hart,” among the permanent sculptures set across Storm King’s spectacularly picturesque landscape. Storm King Art Center is known as one of the world’s leading sculpture parks, located an hour north of New York City, with its 500-acre landscape surrounded by mountains and fields.
Notable guests in attendance included, David R. Collens, David Diamond, Helen Drutt English, Amy Plumb Oppenheim, and artists such as Chakaia Booker and Xin Song. Art world patrons, politicians, and luminaries were able to enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and viewings of the grounds throughout the evening. Chefs Jesse Schenker and Shelley Boris collaborated together to create an unforgettable meal.
