What to Know about Untitled Art’s 2023 Edition
Miami’s beachside fair Untitled Art holds its 12th iteration this week from December 6—10 in a bespoke tent situated between Ocean Drive and 12th Street, joining the Gallery Climate Coalition to ensure a zero-impact program. The fair’s largest edition to date hosts work by almost 600 artists, presented by 167 art spaces from 39 countries, homing in on an ethos of diversity, accessibility, and inclusivity with two encompassing curatorial themes: “Curating in the Digital Age” and “Gender Equality in the Arts.” Fairgoers will find the most diverse programming yet with presentations of art to a central show floor and across the Nest sector, which supports emerging galleries and establishments.
Comprising the main presentation booths are exhibitors like the Paris-based galleries AFIKARIS, Les filles du calvair, NIL GALLERY, and Ketabi Bourdet; Lyndsey Ingram, Patrick Heide Contemporary Art, CARL KOSTYÁL, Huxley-Parlour, Gallery Rosenfeld, Victoria Miro Projects, and JD Malat Gallery hailing from London; New York’s Pablo’s Birthday, Yancey Richardson, Sean Horton, and School of Visual Arts Galleries; WHATIFTHEWORLD and Southern Guild from Cape Town; Istanbul’s Zilberman and THE PILL®; THEO and PIBI GALLERY from Seoul; TERN Gallery from Nassau; and COHJU contemporary art from Kyoto. Concurrently, the Nest sector features galleries like Miami local Dimensions Variable; Chiquita Room from Barcelona; NOME from Berlin; Buenos Aires gallery CONSTITUCIÓN; SKETCH from Bogotá; Selenas Mountain from New York; and GOLESTANI from Düsseldorf.
Artist Prizes at Untitled Art 2023
The fair’s 2023 edition will distribute over $150,000 in prize money to participating artists and galleries, spread across nine different awards. New at this week’s edition are the NXTHVN Visiting Artist Prize, encompassing a monetary award and residency, the Nest Prize by Platform for emerging galleries, the Rado Production Prize for realizing a project of the artist’s proposal, and the Her Clique Womxn Prize for female-identifying or nonbinary artists. Returning prize opportunities include the CCA Andratx Artist-in-Residence award, the 21c Museum Hotels Acquisition Prize, the Vortic Prize, the selection of the next Fountainhead Residency Artist, and the Pébéo Production Prize.
