VOLTA Basel returns for its 17th edition from June 13—19, featuring shows by 66 presenters from around the world. Embracing the cornerstones “Discover. Connect. Collect,” the fair welcomes viewers at ELYS, where they’ll be faced with presentations by new and returning galleries, sharing works across mediums like painting, photography, sculpture, and even a selection of digital-centric art.

“With VOLTA, we pursue the approach ‘Think global, act local,’” said VOLTA director, Kamiar Maleki. “The Basel art scene offers a great foundation for connections into the international art world—this is what we’re prioritizing again this year. We have an excellent range of positions from Switzerland and abroad and look forward to promote exchange in the art scene beyond national borders.”
Fairgoers will find presentations from galleries like the Vienna-based Galerie Ernst Hilger, Charlotte Fogh Gallery from Aarhus, Aalborg’s KIRK Gallery, the New York-based Ethan Cohen, Shiras Galería of Valenzia, TABARI ARTSPACE from Dubai, Japan’s KOGURE, and Basel locals Artstübli and Galerie Katapult, to name a few.

Also of note is a selection of NFT-centric happenings and presentations, like those by Yuri Catania presented by CasaGalleria MonteGeneroso; Artsted.com sharing works by Marco Calzolari, Erin Carle, Legawkana Leo Makgekgenene, Jemima Murphy, and Vincenzo Zancana; NFTs on view from Galerie Katapult; and a guided tour surrounding the question “What is an NFT?”
