This week in Paris, a celebratory 27th edition of Paris Photo descended upon the city’s illustrious Grand Palais, on view through November 10. Uniting a comprehensive 240 exhibitors hailing from 34 diverse countries, Director Florence Bourgeois and Artistic Director Anna Planas invite local and international visitors to revel in the best and brightest of a global and timeless artistic universe.

Paris Photo Presents Prismes Projects and Guest Artist Jim Jarmusch
Must-see highlights include the sweeping Principal platform with a parade of 147 galleries, as well as the Prismes Projects category beaming with large-scale video installations, sculptures, and more. In addition, American filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist Jim Jarmusch will pay homage to the 100th-year anniversary of Surrealism with an enveloping showcase and coinciding thematic conversations.
Meditating on the importance of Surrealism, Paris Photo’s revered guest artist Jarmusch reveals a dynamic group of four Man Ray films in newly resorted magnificence. With original music by Jarmusch, created with his team SQÜRL, the films will premiere across two theaters.
Within this prodigious edition of Paris Photo, a brand new, deftly curated section titled Voices embraces Latin American visionaries and archival works. Impressively curated by Sonia Voss, Elena Navarro, and Azu Nwagbogu, critical investigations coming out of post-Cold War eastern and northern Europe will also be on display. Solo presentations such as “La Cometa, Bogota” by Miguel Angel Rojas are juxtaposed with group shows like “Taller de Mike, Mexico” from Iñaki Bonillas, Rafael Soldi, and Rodrigo Valenzuela.

Curated by the knowing Planas, the Emergence category shines with contemporary masterpieces and 23 monographic presentations. Takeshi Shikama (Lunn & Boogie Woogie Photography, Paris/Hong Kong), Isabelle Wenzel (Bart, Amsterdam), Letizia Le Fur (Julie Caredda, Paris), and Sjoerd Knibbeler (ROOF-A, Rotterdam) are just a few of the soaring creative and exploratory projects on view.
After debuting the first Digital platform in a European art fair last year, Paris Photo brings back this of-the-moment section with revelatory new surveys. Nina Roehrs brilliantly curates this iteration, unveiling 15 endeavors with boundary-breaking photographic artworks. Wonders await by Andreas Gysin & Sidi Vanetti, Leander Herzog & Kim Asendorf, Zach Lieberman, Sarah Meyohas, Vera Molnár & aurèce vettier, Rik Oostenbroek, Nicolas Sassoon, Lars Wander (Nguyen Wahed, London). The Paris Photo x Lumen Prize also debuts within this sector, bestowed upon the most pioneering minds of our rapidly evolving, digital era.
Voyage through Editions, Elles x Paris Photo, and a Children’s Book Presentation
Furthermore, the Editions segment brings 45 outstanding exhibitors in celebration of photographic books—with an emphasis on historic assemblages. This section leads the way to the Elles x Paris Photo presentation, championing women photographers with meticulous curation by Raphaëlle Stopin, Director of the Centre Photographique Rouen Normandie and previous Artistic Director of the Festival de Hyères.
