178 Galleries Hailing From 28 countries Bring Over 1,000 Artworks to miart 2024

Rejoicing in the participation of 178 galleries hailing from 28 countries across the globe, miart 2024 offers visitors singular access to over 1,000 artworks by the luminaries of our modern times.

In addition to beloved fair platforms Established, Emergent, and Modern Art, two new fair sections will serve as thoroughfares to new universes of pioneering thought and creativity. In this vein, “no time no space” echoes the lyrics of musician and artist Franco Battiato and his majestic embodiment of an “explorer of distant worlds.”

Additionally set within the Established section, visitors will discover Timescape, an endeavor that will continue to thoughtfully evolve over three years time, and which begin focusing on pieces conceived in the early part of the 20th century. Micro-exhibitions will span mediums and historical turning points, including a stand from Galleria Gomiero (Montegrotto Terme) displaying sculptural takes on portraiture by Medardo Rosso and Giacomo Manzù, as well as a booth by Bottegantica (Milan) uplifting Italian luminaries Giacomo Balla and Umberto Boccioni.

Must-See Museum Works and Newly Commissioned Artworks Debut in Milan

Must-see museum works will dazzle all ages throughout miart 2024, such as David Hockney’s Caribbean Tea Time (1987) from GALERIE LELONG & Co., as well as Vivian Suter’s installation with kaufmann repetto (Milan, New York), the culmination of decades of exploration into the treasures of the Guatemalan rainforest.

Newly commissioned artworks also debut at the fair, such as a larger-than-life swing from Francesco Arena with Galleria Raffaella Cortese (Milan), and an energizing, mythological travel agency by Luca de Leva alongside Pinksummer (Genoa). Diverse solo presentations abound, including introspective paintings by Tomasz Kowalski with Dawid Radziszewski (Warsaw), hypnotic sculptures by Pietro Consagra by Mucciaccia Gallery (Rome, London, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Singapore), and luminous ceramic pieces by Giosetta Fioroni with Marcorossi artecontemporanea (Milan,  Verona, Turin, Pietrasanta, Rome).

In homage to the 60th Venice Biennale, galleries will illuminate the artistry of the international art exhibition’s selected artists with prismatic exhibitions.
