THEMA is Paris’s Newest Art and Design Fair
Last week during Paris Art Week, the inaugural edition of the art and design fair THEMA took place at the Hôtel de Guise on rue de l’Universitè. Founded by Michaël Hadida, former director of fashion design event TRANOÏ, the fair centered on the importance of eco-consciousness and transcended the typical gallery booth format, opting for a curated selection of art and design objects situated thoughtfully together throughout the historic Parisian venue.
“With THEMA, we want to redefine the codes of luxury and creation, in line with an eco-responsible commitment and social ethics,” said Hadida. “To create value with the will to preserve and respect natural resources and the transmission of know-how. THEMA is a virtuous circle.”

THEMA was Conceived to Coexist with Historic Architecture
Welcoming over 60 participants, THEMA featured individuals, collectives, brands, and galleries alike. Hailing from the US, Europe, and Asia, exhibitors presented across the floors of the former hotel, which is home to parquet wood flooring, gilded fireplaces, paneled walls, and original crystal chandeliers. Like stepping into the home of a discerning collector, the fair experience included interiors filled with enthralling landscapes of sculptural objects, paintings, hanging multimedia artworks, functional furniture designs, and more.
