TWO x TWO on Artsy
before Gala in Dallas

Each year, Dallas art patrons and power couple Cindy and Howard Rachofsky welcome guests into their 10,000 square foot Richard Meier-designed home for one of the city’s most anticipated charity auction events, the TWO X TWO Gala, a benefit for amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research and the Dallas Museum of Art.

This year, those eager to bid on the auction don’t have to fly all the way to Dallas. Bidders can now raise their virtual paddles at the OWN it NOW sale, thanks to the debut of online platform Artsy’s bidding functionality. The online auction marks the first for Artsy, and this week, visitors can peruse through 31 of the 142 artworks in the 2013 TWO X TWO Auction.

With prices ranging from $1,200 to $700,000, “It’s not an elitist event, there’s something for everyone,” says event hostess Cindy Rachofsky in the promotional video for the auction. Included in the OWN it NOW sale are works by Tracey Emin, Sam Falls, Walead Beshty, Daniel Buren and Tam Van Tran.

Online bidding goes live today until October 24. “TWO X TWO is a magic combination of art, money, Texas hospitality and great food,” gallerist Gavin Brown said. Luckily, thanks to Artsy’s partnership with TWO X TWO for AIDS and Art, you don’t have to be in Texas to be a part of it.

This city is called Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky located on the Bering Sea at the base of Avachinsky Volcano. The port is a lively and mysterious place closely guarded by the salmon eating wild bears who live in derelict shipping containers on the docks.
