On September 1, the UNIQLO location in SoHo held its 10th anniversary party with guests celebrating standout Tokyo fashion. Upon entering the store, attendees enjoyed a colorful lit-up UNIQLO backdrop—perfect for everyone snapping photos and tagging Japanese hip-hop artist KOHH on social media, as he performed in the store that night. Along with curated Japanese cocktails, custom yuzu edamame ice cream from Black Tree Brooklyn, and light bites from Japanese restaurants in New York City, we also saw the key artist collaboration SPRZ NY—a partnership between UNIQLO and MoMA— with apparel and accessory pieces featuring work from Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Merging Japanese urban style with SoHo street style, the store is engaging the neighborhood by hosting a variety of events and promotions, including complimentary iced matcha green lattes by MatchaBar every weekend this month. To coincide with this exciting September for UNIQLO, the brand is also launching their first global campaign—“The Science of Lifewear.” To highlight their commitment to high-quality clothing that is both simple and beautiful, the brand has partnered with Droga5 to create fun ads and product films. So stay tuned!
