Urs Fischer Joins the NFT Scene with “CHAOS”

Urs Fischer announced the debut of his first NFT works titled “CHAOS.” Available for viewing today through the curated auction app Fair Warning, the series of digital sculptures will be available for sale starting on April 11, beginning with the work CHAOS #1 Human. After the initial launch, Fischer will introduce the remaining works in a succession of drops with Pace Gallery and MakersPlace, marking the first major gallery to join the cryptoart scene.

With a total of 501 NFTs in this series, each was made from 3D scans of two familiar objects, captured colliding in motion—with one single entity combining all objects, titled CHAOS #501. The unique works (like CHAOS #1 Human, which consists of an egg and a turquoise lighter revolving in orbit) embody the fusion of the virtual and the real, existing forever through technology, following the artist’s ideology that anything can be used to create art.

“I have believed for some time that the NFT sphere will be a catalyst that will give a voice to a new generation of artists and expand the palette of expressions for established artists that are not afraid to embrace paradigm shifts,” said Loïc Gouzer, Founder and CEO of Fair Warning. “Urs is a phenomenal artist who has never been afraid of taking conceptual and technological risks to advance his wildest ideas and give form to his vision.”

The artist will launch a dedicated website on April 12 to house the NFTs as they are released, as well as including them on his own Instagram account. The sale of CHAOS #1 Human will also give back, with all proceeds going to the nonprofit Oceana, and a percentage of the entire series given through Ethereum towards the sustainable future of NFTs.
