Last Monday in New York, Vik Muniz, Liz Swig, and Selima Salaun hosted an event to celebrate the debut of “Happy View,” an edition by the artist of a lenticular photograph in a Lucite cabinet. Created in collaboration with eyewear brand Selima Optique and Swig’s LIZWORKS, the edition of 40 includes nine pairs of colored glasses each designed by Muniz.
“Collecting art, design and creating a new vocabulary with both is what is exciting for me. Seeing the world through artists eyes has been an absolute creative joy. I couldn’t be happier with the results,” Swig said, showing off the collaboration for the first time at Rin Tin Tin on Spring Street.

Muniz’s “Happy View” is available through Lizworks.net, Selima Optique boutiques, and select retailers. And we hear that later this year, artist Paola Pivi will debut a group of open-edition sunglasses. Keep your eyes out for that.
