Whitewaller Miami 2025: Everything You Need to Know About Miami Art Week

Editor-in-Chief Katy Donoghue reflects on Miami’s energy, expanding partnerships, and the citywide moments shaping this year’s art experience.

Whitewaller Miami 2025 debuts next week! We are thrilled to bring you everything you need to know about the week of fairs, exhibitions, events, and so much more. You can collect all 11 special covers around town, as well as download your digital copy HERE.

As we return to Miami this December, there’s a familiar sense of anticipation in the air—a particular blend of sunshine, creative energy, and that unmistakable hum that rises when the art world gathers by the beach. After an inspiring season in Paris, and ahead of the debut of Art Basel’s new edition in Doha, Miami feels once again like the place where everything converges. The city becomes a crossroads of global culture, where conversations begin on the fair floor and continue across hotel lobbies, museum courtyards, seaside restaurants, and late-night gatherings that feel at once spontaneous and essential. It is a landscape full of possibilities, and we are especially thrilled to have the incredible Sarah Arison returning as our Guest Editor this year, bringing her distinct insight, generosity, and deep commitment to the arts to these pages.

Whitewaller Miami 2025 is Your Guide to the Fairs

Whitewaller Miami celebrates an expanded partnership with Art Basel Miami Beach, reaffirming our shared mission to connect art, design, and luxury in ways that feel intentional, accessible, and deeply human. As one of the most influential fairs in the world, Art Basel Miami Beach sets the tone for the week, drawing international audiences who come not only to see art, but to engage with the ideas and communities that shape it. This year’s edition promises ambitious presentations from leading galleries, significant works by both established and emerging artists, and a continued focus on amplifying voices that reflect the global, ever-evolving nature of contemporary culture.

Alongside the main fair, we’re thrilled to spotlight the dynamic ecosystem that makes Miami Art Week so unique. Untitled Art brings its signature curatorial rigor back to the sands of South Beach, uniting galleries, artist-run spaces, and nonprofit organizations in a setting that feels refreshingly open and attuned to discovery. NADA Miami continues to champion new voices, remaining a vital platform for experimentation and independent practice. Design Miami once again pushes the boundaries of collectible design, presenting work at the intersection of function, craft, and conceptual innovation. And Alcova Miami, now a must-visit gathering for the creative community, presents boundary-breaking installations and activations that stretch the imagination and reframe how design interacts with place. Together, these fairs form a portrait of a city in constant motion—one that embraces both risk and intimacy, spectacle and sincerity.

The Must-See Exhibitions in Miami

Beyond the fairs, Miami’s museum and gallery landscape is especially rich this season, offering visitors a deeper look at the artistic, architectural, and cultural conversations shaping the city today. MOCA North Miami continues to present visionary programming anchored by bold curatorial perspectives. ICA Miami adds to its legacy of championing cutting-edge contemporary art with exhibitions that challenge, provoke, and illuminate. The Bass offers its thoughtful mix of international voices and thematic depth, while the Rubell Museum remains a touchstone for immersive, ambitious presentations drawn from one of the world’s most influential private collections. PAMM’s waterfront setting is as compelling as its exhibitions, which consistently explore the intersections of identity, environment, and global exchange. And at Nina Johnson, one of Miami’s most dynamic galleries, visitors will discover projects that highlight the power of design, craft, and narrative through a distinctly Miami lens.

As always, Whitewaller is your guide to the week ahead: a curated selection of the best exhibitions, events, restaurants, and hotels to experience while in town. Whether you’re discovering new voices, revisiting familiar landmarks, or simply taking a moment to enjoy the rhythm of the city—from sunrise walks on the beach to evenings spent exploring Miami’s culinary and cultural offerings—we hope these pages inspire you to move through the week with curiosity, openness, and a sense of connection.

Thank you to our growing community of artists, curators, collectors, and brand partners for sharing our belief that creativity is the ultimate luxury. Your passion and partnership continue to shape the conversations that matter most. We’ll see you around the fairs—and perhaps by the ocean.
