Born in Hong Kong, raised in New England, and educated in San Francisco, Taylor Quist is a writer and critic based in New York City. Having completed an M.A. in Cinema Studies in 2009, he specializes in contemporary art and film criticism, with a particular interest in exploring the connections between the art object and the body. His emphases extend to psychoanalysis, linguistics, and semiotics, all of which inform his writing. Taylor is also a contributing editor at Maker Magazine, as well as a social gadfly. He lives in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
