Flos Presents The Light of the Mind at Euroluce, Designed by Formafantasma

This week in Milan, lighting design company Flos is taking part in the Euroluce biennial. On view are new lamps, architectural solutions, installations, and other brilliant illuminations that explore imagination, fragility, and creativity. Their booth at the presentation, and Corso Monforte showroom installation, was designed by Formafantasma. “The lamp itself, with its charm and design intelligence, is the narrative,” said Formafantasma, asked by the Executive Chairman and Artistic Supervisor of the Flos B&B Italia Group, Piero Gandini. The designers created a series of seven videos, “The Light of the Mind,” explaining, “We offer an honest portrait of the creative process: a continuous flow of free associations and almost alchemical combinations of thoughts, techniques, technologies, and materials. In the age of Artificial Intelligence, this approach affirms authorship as a form of responsibility and differentiation, safeguarding the subjectivity of the designer and their capacity to make decisions.” On view are pieces by names like Piero Lissoni, Michael Anastassiades, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Konstantin Grcic, Tobia Scarpa, and Formafantasma.

Hosoo and DimoreStudio Debut Hemispheres Collection at Osanna Visconti

HOSOO Co., Ltd. has collaborated with DIMORESTUDIO on a new textile collection, Hemispheres. The series of 33 textiles is inspired by obi patterns passed down through generations in sketches, untouched for centuries. Reimagined in delicate hues, these traditional Japanese motifs are brought to life with an Italian sensitivity and sensibility. Hemispheres is shown within the Milanese Osanna Visconti Atelier, alongside a new collection of furniture in natural bronze entitled the Magnolia Collection. Here, a sofa, screen, mirror, console, and more are in majestic bloom. The two collections come together through a few items beautifully upholstered—like the Scottato Stool and Banquette, Bambù screen and chair, Roccia ottoman, and Magnolia sofa.
Saint Laurent Presents Charlotte Perriand at Milan Design Week

Saint Laurent and Anthony Vaccarello show this week a special collaboration with Charlotte Perriand. Aptly named “Saint Laurent-Charlotte Perriand,” it features four designs created between 1943 and 1967, all selected by Vaccarello. Prior to this showcase, they merely existed as prototypes and sketches. In Milan, Saint Laurent has brought them to life pieces like Table Mille-Feuilles for the first time. This project references Yves Saint Laurent’s own personal collection of work by Perriand, gathered throughout his life. Coinciding with the exhibition are photos by the Perriand on view at Saint Laurent Babylone and Saint Laurent Rive Droite in Paris.
