Molteni & C’s Vincent Van Duysen at Paris Design Week

Molteni & C Creative Director Vincent Van Duysen unveiled a dynamic and harmonious 2023 collection for Paris Design Week. Energized by ancient Roman domestic architecture, in which an opulent open-air courtyard acts as the heart of the home, the latest presentation offers a holistic atmosphere in which indoor and outdoor spaces are joined together in idyllic duality. The fresh Outdoor Collection draws on both classical and modern design aesthetics, utilizing natural materials, such as the solid teak seen in the Landmark Collection and the sleek cement finish of the Arc Table by Foster + Partners. A myriad of lush furnishings — from the luxurious Porta Volta chair by Basel-based firm Herzog & de Meuron to the sumptuous Cinnamon armchair and Tuscany Chaise Longue by Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa — act as a testament to the brand’s unparalleled craftsmanship and sixth sense for divine contemporary living.

UniFor Presents a Collaborative Show in Celebration of Paris Design Week

UniFor re-established vibrant partnerships with renowned architecture firms Snøhetta and Foster + Partners Industrial Design for the occasion of Paris Design Week. Bokhus by Snøhetta, first debuted at Milan Design Week, is a mesmeric shelving system for contemporary libraries. Merging splendid Italian engineering with Scandinavian refinement, the adaptable structure makes tremendous use of recycled aluminum, cellulose, and wood for an all-around triumph in sustainability. The XYZ flexible office system by Foster + Partners champions individual well being with comprehensive new products. An X-shaped Timber Shelving Unit offers integrated lighting, acoustic panels, and magnetic boards which can be installed and removed with fluidity. The Y table boasts lustrous steel legs which can be rearranged for diverse seating options or even detached for ease of transport. The Z Desk, a synergic sit or stand design, introduces a patented mechanism for nimble adjustment and dependable tension at an array of heights. Products were set within an illuminating installation by contemporary designer Ron Gilad; exploring the thought-provoking theme of “the naked and the dressed,” a bookcase was embellished with colorful fabric, shelving was left provocatively unadorned, while multi-hued fluorescent book sculptures set the showroom aglow.

Poltrona Frau Uplifts the Human Spirit with Three New Beautilities Collections

The latest Beautilites collections by Poltrona Frau — offering Made in Italy treasures since 1912 — marries stunning design aesthetics and craftsmanship with masterful performance. Three new categories focused on pets, games, and fitness support daily physical and mental well-being. The chic Pet Collection, intended for small and medium-sized furry friends, offers both charming and functional products for animals and their owners. The striking, nutmeg-hued Pelle Frau® leather dog bed is designed with precise perforations for maximum airflow, while the washable dog bag is adorned in the eye-catching Motif Weavers pattern by designer Simona Cremascoli. The Giobagnara x Poltrona Frau Games Collection champions nourishing socialization in our digital world with elegant playing cards and game boxes — the opulent chess set presents pieces flawlessly crafted in walnut and maple. In continuous collaboration with Giobagnara, the Fitness Collection offers the most discerning customers a bevy of luxurious self-care products such as the polished jump rope, made of meticulously woven leather with walnut wood handles.

India Mahdavi Dedicates Project Room #9 to a Partnership with Gebrüder Thonet Vienna

On the occasion of Paris Design Week, India Mahdavi’s project room — a highly collaborative and multifaceted platform for designers in visionary dialogue — honors a ravishing partnership with Italian manufacturer Gebrüder Thonet Vienna. Within this year’s project room #9, the Mickey lounge chair was unveiled as a deeply inspired and sculptural work of art. In homage to the great fantasy of childhood icons, the curvaceous chair offers both comfort and high style. A deft adaptation of a fluid drawing, the Mickey spotlights expertly crafted wood and colorful upholstery. In addition, the loop dining chair made its glorious debut; a slim design and minimalist wooden backrest is juxtaposed with curling armrests for a welcoming and artistic addition to the modern dining table.

Poliform Explores Majestic Fluidity for Paris Design Week

Distinguished Italian furniture design brand Poliform introduced an extensive lineup of both indoor and outdoor collections for this year’s edition of Paris Design Week. Flaviano Capriotti spearheaded the creation of Sunday, an assembly of indoor seating embracing relaxation and intimate conversation by way of approachable curves and asymmetry. The Soori Day Lounge, designed by Soo Chan for luxury in the open air, unfolds as a plush, circular daybed with a braided headboard and garnished with fine upholstery. Advocating for mother nature’s bounty, the Monolith outdoor table offers a delicate surface made of Cementoskin® — a revisioning of basalt stone — with organically-shaped legs, available in a myriad of shapes and sizes.
