HFZ Capital Group and award-wining architect David Chipperfield unveiled The Bryant, Chipperfield’s first residential project. The building, located at 16 West 40th Street directly on Bryant Park and steps from Fifth Avenue shopping, boasts skyline views of the Empire State Building and includes two triplex penthouses.
“The idea that the structure and the façade are the same thing, made out of polished concrete, will give the building a tectonic and physical presence. Through this, the building is reduced down to elements of columns and windows, of solid and void, mass and space,” said Chipperfield referring to the building’s custom made aggregate terrazzo façade that transitions into the interior, along with the large framed windows that create a rigid, structured design.
The 57 residences feature floor-to-ceiling windows, at least one corner exposure, warm-toned herringbone floors, and bespoke millwork specifically designed by David Chipperfield Architects for The Bryant.
