Ermenegildo Zegna NY Global Store

Ermenegildo Zegna’s Global Flagship Opens in New York

Last week, Ermenegildo Zegna opened its newest global store, located in Manhattan’s historic Crown Building on West 57th Street. Designed by architect, designer, and longtime collaborator Peter Marino, the flagship marks a new chapter for the luxury menswear brand, celebrating its American legacy with a unique façade and fresh retail experience.

In a new concept for the house, the store has been planned to create a virtual journey through the world of Ermenegildo Zegna, taking visitors to the heart of the brand by means of an innovative ephemeral installation updated throughout the year.

The journey begins outside, where two stories of glass are overlaid by a construction of metallic strings, reminiscent of the yarn that is so essential to Ermenegildo Zegna’s signature craftsmanship. Inside, a chic, modern aesthetic decorates the 660 square meters of the three-floor layout, boasting beautiful elements like cerused ashwood, bleached mahogany, vals stone flooring, historic photography, and a vintage Italian bar.

On the ground floor, visitors find a wide selection of fine leather goods and designated area for shoes. The second level pays tribute to the house’s couture collections, which are complemented by Gio Ponti’s Dezza 24 leather armchairs. And on the third floor, clients will find an opulent open space dedicated to sartoria, leisurewear, couture, and an intimately furnished personalization room. There, they’ll also find Emil LukasZegna Liquid Touch (2012) and a selection of black-and-white photographs by Giovanni Caccamo.

Available exclusively at the New York location is the Taccuino capsule collection of luxury leisurewear inspired by Ermenegildo Zegna’s personal notebook, which was carried on his first trip to New York in 1938. It features a motif of Zegna’s calligraphy, reimagined as the main print for the collection.
