On Dec 6 in Miami, for the occasion of Art Basel and Design Miami/ 2023, revered Italian painter Roberto Ruspoli infused his transcendent style into an energized exhibition and live painting performance, titled “Meditation on Murales Art,” at the Molteni&C flagship boutique in Miami. On view through December 10, the majestic mural was placed into deft conversation with the premier Italian furniture and design company’s latest 2023 collection, as well as with three of the artist’s enigmatic paintings.

Molteni&C Creative Director Vincent Van Duysen Collaborates with Ruspoli for Salone del Mobile
Visionary Creative Director Vincent Van Duysen keenly identified the shared shapes, tones, and poetics between Ruspoli’s trademark revisioning of classical themes and the sumptuous Domus Romana influences in Van Duysen’s latest collection for Molteni&C. During this year’s edition of Salone del Mobile, Ruspoli was invited to embellish the walls of the brand’s elegant headquarters in Giussano, Italy, intermeshing hypnotic charcoal frescoes of classical figures with tranquil moments of mother nature’s bounty.

An Ongoing Partnership and Shared Artistic Vision Unfolds at the Molteni&C Miami Flagship
During the 19th edition of Design Miami/, in the presence of captivated visitors, Ruspoli, widely known as “the artist who reinvented the fresco,” created a sweeping mural within the stylish flagship store. Lush tree branches embrace sensual figures in warm connection, evoking Ancient Greek and Roman aesthetics in a serenely minimalist fashion. Surrounding works on canvas by Ruspoli evoke similarly compelling themes in the natural hues of classic Greek vases, regally juxtaposed with holistic and timeless Molteni&C designs.
