Seven Standout Salone Exhibitions to See at Salone del Mobile Milano 2026

Across Milan, Salone del Mobile 2026 unfolds as a citywide composition, where design moves fluidly between installation, craft, and lived space.

Salone del Mobile Milano 2026 is underway, with exhibitors putting the final touches on installations this morning. A full week of events and activations is unfolding across Milan’s historic neighborhoods, with presentations like Bocci’s “Light as Medium,” Buccellati’s “Aquae Mirabiles,” and more shaping the city’s design landscape. Whitewall highlights seven standout exhibitions to see in the city, or to follow from afar.

Homo Faber Fellowship: “Today’s Masters Meet Tomorrow’s Talents”

For its third edition, “Today’s Masters Meet Tomorrow’s Talents” returns to Salone Milan 2026, presenting 22 duos of master artisans and emerging creatives from the Homo Faber Fellowship. This annual, eight-month sponsored program pairs young talents with established makers, culminating in a final exhibition that reflects the depth of their collaboration.

Organized by the Michelangelo Foundation and supported by Jaeger-LeCoultre, the exhibition unfolds at Casa degli Artisti, celebrating works born at the intersection of cross-cultural exchange and multidisciplinary craft. On view are 18 distinct practices, from a ceramic “sea monster” constructed of glazed elements by master ceramicist Kartini Thomas and fellow Álvaro Nogueira, to a glass installation by master glassmaker Adrienne Diamond and fellow Fiona Byrne. Highlights also include a suspended woven metal from enamelled copper thread sculpture by master weaver Morgane Baroghel and fellow Maëva Louvel, and a refined triptych puzzle box composed of rose gold and silver-plated brass by master silversmith Juan Garrido Gayubo and fellow Rocío Ortiz Vara.

Buccellati: “Aquae Mirabiles”

A water theatre near Buccellati’s headquarters sets the stage for “Aquae Mirabiles,” an immersive installation curated by Federica Sala and designed by Balich Wonder Studio in collaboration with Luke Edward Hall. Through Hall’s drawings, the concept takes on a distinctly human touch, translating atmosphere into a richly visual, almost theatrical experience.

The exhibition centers on the Caviar silverware collection, defined by its iconic microsphere motif and heightened here through a poetic, aquatic scenography. Moving from the exterior into the installation, visitors enter a submerged world where references to Atlantis, history, myth, and fantasy unfold. The narrative traces the legacy of Italian caviar, culminating in a central display of Roman mythological figures reimagined by Hall. Silver sturgeons stand alongside pieces from the Marina collection, all set within an environment inspired by an underwater cathedral. In a second space, a submerged banquet table, shaped like a wave, presents the full Caviar collection in a suspended, dreamlike setting.

Bocci x David Alhadeff: “Light as Medium”

At Salone Milan 2026, Bocci presents its second collaboration with Omer Arbel, curated by co-founder and creative director David Alhadeff. Titled “Light as Medium,” the exhibition unfolds within the Bocci apartment, where a domestic setting is stripped back into a sequence of encounters, transforming the space into a purpose-built residential gallery.

Arbel approaches light as both material and structure, a philosophy realized through Bocci’s ongoing material investigations. In the main hallway, 147 Wave—composed of 200 lit pieces of sheet glass in alternating colors and forms—creates a continuous, undulating composition. Elsewhere, 28 Stream traces the stairwell with cascading bands of pendant lights that descend, gather, and shift direction, forming a fluid line through the building’s vertical circulation. “These pieces are not meant to decorate a space. They are meant to change how you experience it,” adds Alhadeff notes, underscoring the conceptual rigor that defines Arbel’s work.

Bang & Olufsen x Antolini Italy

At the Antolini Stoneroom, Bang & Olufsen and Antolini explore the interplay between sound and design in outdoor environments. Bringing together acoustic expertise and a mastery of natural stone, the collaboration considers how material and sound can shape atmosphere in tandem. Presented during Salone Milan 2026, the installation guides visitors from the city into a more contemplative, nature-driven setting. Lush greenery and a central reflective water table anchor the space, where falling droplets create subtle, rippling soundscapes. Taj Mahal® quartzite, shown in a matte finish, appears throughout the space for its soft tonality and tactile quality.

A key highlight is a preview of the Beosound Haven speaker, designed to integrate seamlessly into its surroundings, pairing Bang & Olufsen’s signature aluminum and sculptural form with Antolini’s stone surfaces. Also on view are the iconic Beolab 18 speakers, reinterpreted through Antolini®’s natural materials.

MARNI x CUCCHI extends beyond Salone Milan 2026, unfolding through July 15th, as a reimagining of the quintessential Milanese ritual: the morning cappuccino. Visuals by RedDuo Studio merge Marni’s graphic language with Pasticceria Cucchi’s historic identity, translating Italian design into a tactile vocabulary of color, pattern, and material. Both collaborators, deeply rooted in Milan, bring a shared sense of place to the project.

The result is a distinctive red-and-green palette, layered in retro-inspired polka dots and stripes that feel at once nostalgic and refined. This visual language carries across tableware, textiles, pastry packaging, and staff uniforms, creating a cohesive, immersive experience. Limited-edition cappuccino cups and saucers extend the encounter beyond the café. Throughout the collaboration, weekly Caffè Concerto evenings reinterpret Cucchi’s traditions through live performances. A Spritz menu curated by MARTINI offers a contemporary tribute to Milan’s evolving cultural rhythm.

ISSEY MIYAKE: The Paper Log: Shell and Core

At its Milan store, ISSEY MIYAKE presents a collaboration between Satoshi Kondo of MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO and Ensamble Studio, exploring memory and material through an installation and a series of furniture prototypes titled “The Paper Log: Shell and Core.” The project begins with the Paper Log—a compressed roll of pleated paper used in the brand’s garment production—its circular marbling reminiscent of tree rings.

Kondo first encountered these rolls during a factory visit, cutting them crosswise to create stools for a runway presentation. This gesture expanded into a broader collaboration, where contrasts between delicate and robust are brought into focus. Brought into the project for their deep expertise in material research, Ensamble Studio developed Shell, transforming the paper logs into sculptural forms that are hardened and preserved as if frozen in time. In parallel, the in-house team’s Core explores the material’s functional potential, producing stools, chairs, and tables through processes such as waxing, gluing, and binding. Accompanied by a documentary, the installation traces this cross-disciplinary exchange, revealing how a byproduct can be reimagined into both object and environment.

For Salone Milan 2026, Poltrona Frau collaborates with Shepard Fairey, bringing his distinct visual language into dialogue with the brand’s design heritage. Rooted in themes of nature, life cycles, and human responsibility, the project centers on an interpretation of Mother Nature and her relationship to the environment.

At the core of the collaboration is the Archibald Delicate Balance Limited Edition, produced in just 200 numbered pieces. The work aligns with Poltrona Frau’s 2026 theme, True Over Time, reflecting a commitment to authenticity and enduring values. Fairey, known for his role in contemporary visual culture and street art, introduces layered imagery and a narrative sensibility that expands the chair beyond object into message.

Environmental and social consciousness are integral to the project: for each armchair purchased, two trees will be planted in Guatemala in support of Indigenous women. “We aligned on the meaning of the work with the delicate balance of both the design and aesthetics, as well as the emphasis on respecting and maintaining the beauty of Mother Nature, reflecting that alignment in this ‘Delicate Balance’ armchair,” Fairey notes.
