Last week, The Rug Company in New York was a divine mix of sweet scents and refreshing flavors as Jonathan Adler fans and design enthusiasts gathered for an English afternoon tea and designer Q&A.
As we entered the store a large table overflowing with tasty treats greeted us. All the tea time essentials were present, including bite-sized sandwiches, scones with jam, fresh fruit , and an assortment of fine teas. A few of our favorites were the chicken salad sandwich and chocolate chip scone, which paired perfectly with our Earl Grey tea.

After tea we joined co-founder of The Rug Company, Christopher Sharp, for a discussion with Adler. Long time friends, the two discussed not only their recent rug collaboration, but also past encounters and plans for the future.
Adler began his career as a potter and eventually cast his net to home furnishings. Also dabbling in writing, we received a copy of Adler’s latest book, 100 Way’s to Happy Chic Your Life that he signed for us as well.
