This past weekend in Paris, visionary design salon MATTER and SHAPE celebrated its second presentation within the lush Jardin des Tuileries, taking place March 7-10. Placing its heart in the riveting developments of global contemporary design, the 2025 edition embraced fashion, decorative arts, interior and object design.
On the 100th anniversary of the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris, MATTER and SHAPE honored pivotal moments in design history while spotlighting trailblazing, modern masterpieces. Echoing the event’s unforgettable, bespoke endeavors and dialogues in design, the salon sparked new perspectives in the industry with a newly expansive arena, engaging booths and communal activations, as well as singular talks with leading minds in design.
MATTER and SHAPE’s New and Returning Exhibitors From Around the World

Within the eco-conscious garden, both new and returning exhibitors invited visitors from around the world to journey through a sanctuary of enthralling innovations.
Global salon partners such as Jil Sander (Italy), KoozArch (Italy), MycoWorks (USA), Pedestal (Denmark), Profirst (Belgium), Shasha Movies (UK), and WE ARE ONA (France), made way for esteemed international spaces including Akua Objects (Denmark), Daisuke Yamamoto (Japan), Dorothée Potocka (Poland), Taiwan Lantern (Netherlands), Transparent (Sweden), Lobmeyr ft. Gohar World (Austria), WePlus (Japan), Unknown, Untitled (France), Waiting For Ideas (France), and FAINA (Ukraine).
Perron-Roettinger Studio and WE ARE ONA Offer Refreshment and Relaxation

LA-based Perron-Roettinger Studio, and the perceptive Willo Perron, joined with MATTER and SHAPE once again, unveiling a mesmeric architectural enterprise. The brand’s custom-made stand brimmed with effervescent realms for gathering, offering luxurious amenities and a ravishing design bookstore. In addition, a delightful restaurant, café, and boutique welcomed refreshment and relaxation during the bustling event.
Meanwhile, Paris-base creative and culinary studio WE ARE ONA came back to this year’s salon with a revitalized restaurant pop-up. A delicious and visually-stunning lunch and dinner service was enjoyed by all.
JIL SANDER Design Talks Return with Distinguished and Emerging Design Pioneers

Bringing together the most ardent supporters of the design landscape, MATTER and SHAPE’s comprehensive 2025 program of singular talks and events raised the curtain on the industry’s bright, new horizons.
JIL SANDER Design Talks returned to the salon with distinguished and emerging pioneers who imparted the nuances of their multidisciplinary creative practices. Alongside Milan-based architectural platform and research studio KoozArch, the vital dialogues were displayed on large-scale Reishi™ projector screens and uniquely recorded as podcasts.
On Saturday, March 8, “PHILOSOPHY OF THE HOME” was an insightful exploration with moderator Seb Emina, featuring readings of Emanuele Coccia’s notable book Philosophy of the Home: Domestic Space and Happiness (2021). Renowned speakers included Dima Srouji, architect and artist (Hollow Forms); Jermaine Gallacher, designer and editor in chief (TON); Dan Thawley, curator and editor (Matter and Shape); and Michela Pelizzari, founder and creative director (P:S Agency).
The weekend dialogues evolved organically with thoughtful themes like “ARCHITECTURE AND ADVOCACY,” “ARCHITECTURE AT LARGE,” and “L’ARTISANAT FRANCAIS.” A highlight of the program played out under the umbrella of “1925-2025,” a gripping back-and-forth with Adrian Prieto, design curator; Chris Dercon, director (Fondation Cartier); and Felix Burrichter, editor-in-chief (Pin-Up Magazine).
