This weekend in Shanghai, the West Bund Art Center hosts the eighth edition of West Bund Art & Design from November 12—14. Made possible with support from Dior, BMW, and UBS, fairgoers will see the latest in art and design presented by more than 120 international galleries, spread across a main galleries sector, a design platform, and other special programming including the xiàn chăng, Video AI PLAZA, Perspective, and West Bund Voice platforms.
With the entirety of the fair filling the center’s Hall A, Hall B, and the West Bund Dome, those in attendance will find work by artists from galleries of 18 countries, including names like A Lighthouse called Kanata, Yibo Gallery, Perrotin, Axel Vervoordt Gallery, White Cube, Stephen Friedman Gallery, Useless Space, MINE PROJECT, Pace Gallery, Almine Rech, Thaddaeus Ropac, Platform China Contemporary Art, Galerie MARGUERITE, LIANG PROJECT, and Gagosian. And sharing what’s new in the design world will be presenters like SHENG ZHANG LAB, Van Collection, Ting-Ying Gallery, BookArt, Chairplay, and BENTU.

Be sure to keep an eye open for solo presentations of international artists installed in, outside, and around the center, part of the xiàn chăng sector. Imagined in mediums ranging from painting and installation to sculpture and video, the platform will feature works like Alice Chen’s Form Ties with “Project Terrace,” shared by Positive Art Research Center, the artwork Digital Human Remains 001 from DATALAVA, WHITE SPACE bringing He Xiangyu’s colorful Hard Palate 32-2, and the alien-like figure of The Beginning Breath of the Genderless by Wang Ziquan, presented by MadeIn Gallery.
Fairgoers should plan to save time for visiting the digital realm, with works by artists like Lin Ke, Till Langschied, and Wang Tuo on view in the Video AI PLAZA. Also stay on the lookout for group presentations like “First Day, Every Day” and “Beyond Boundaries – French Artists Exhibition” from the Perspectives sector, and Forum’s schedule of talks featuring artists and art world professionals like Tu Hongtao, Wang Guangle, Su Yu-Xin, Zhu Zhu, Juliette Zou, and David Tung.
