A Mix of Steel Mesh and Tailored Suits: Ryan Roa’s Windows for NYFW: Men’s at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street

By Whitewall

January 22, 2016

Bloomingdale’s has tapped artist Ryan Roa to design the windows of its 59th street location, to coincide with New York Fashion Week: Men’s. On Lexington and Third Avenue, the artist’s work from his recent “Stress Points” exhibition at gallery nine 5 interacts with looks from designers like Michael Kors, Todd Snyder, Ralph Lauren, John Varvatos, Billy Reid, Ovadia and Sons, Rag and Bone, Marc Jacos, Eidos, Robert Geller, Suit Supply, and Public School.

Roa’s “Expanded Steel Relief” works, made in mesh steel, move along Lexington Avenue, while his geometric “Plane Drawings” series made of hardware and bungee chords can be found on Third Avenue. The displays are up now through February 7 and January 31, respectively.
