A.P.C. Jean Touitou’s Ego & Superego “Five Dresses”

Creative director and founder of A.P.C. Jean Touitou officially launched a new collection, “Five Dresses,” this week, which he describes as a collaboration between his “ego” and “superego.”

The upscale collection consists of five all-black dresses and feature their own unique twist and bias-cut. The frocks are made of viscose crepe material and are styled with leather and brass jewelry and molded leather shin guards.

Photographs of Touitou’s mother performing in a play in Tunis when she was young initially inspired the “Five Dresses” collection. Each look takes on a unique approach to the quintessential Grecian goddess and even resonates with several female characters in Proust novels.

The collection is available in stores now.
