Last Monday, and for the very first time exposed during New York Fashion Week, Maison Kitsuné unveiled “Effortless French,” its spring/summer 2015 men’s and women’s collection, at The Standard in New York City.
Paying tribute to the Parisianlifestyle and emphasizing the subtle balance between curated and carefree styles, the models presented the collection by posing in front of large tableaux representing postcards of Paris, walking around the panels and among the crowd, while Kitsuné’s latest mix tape played in the background.
First known as a music label, the French/Japanese Maison Kitsuné has been making a splash in the world of Fashion by creating timeless, neat, both clean-cut and playful pieces that offer a Parisian, street-style twist.
Co-founders and creative directors Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki were joined by industry insiders such as Sky Ferreira, Nick Wooster, Cory Kennedy, Kilo Kish, Mayer Hawthorne, Heather Boo, Cleo Wade, Caitlin Moe, Mia Moretti, Sabine Heller, Hailey Gates, Misha Janette, Alison Valentine, Amirah Kassem, Cynthia Mittweg, and Jenne Lombardo to catch a first glimpse of the new collection.
