Alexander McQueen launched its Spring/Summer 2021 collection this week, introduced through the short film “First Light’’ by Jonathan Glazer. The film takes viewers to the bank of the River Thames in London, where models walk through muddy water at low tide, engulfed in a grey landscape.

The collection’s color palette perfectly matches the morose atmosphere of the setting, featuring dark hues, alongside soft pinks, yellows, and blues. Silhouettes are exaggerated with explosive sleeve and prom-like dresses are paired with chunky boots and cropped suit jackets, showcasing the brand’s skillful tailoring.

Collection highlights include a hybrid trench coat with a body in beige cotton and a voluminous sleeve, a dress with a butterfly-draped skirt in engineered tulle toile print on polyfaille, and a deconstructed dress with strapless corset and an exploded skirt in layers of blush and tea rose tulle.
