Alexandre Vauthier Mixes Military Style with Bows and Fishnets

No contributor

Last week the fashion world stood at attention under the commanding presence of Alexandre Vauthier. The designer unveiled his latest masterful collection for fall/winter 2016-17 haute couture.

The sensuous collection was influenced by military style, in a palette range of black, gold, chocolate, silver, and military green. Angular cuts, cinched waists with embellished bows or bejeweled belts, sensual plunged necklines, and bold fishnets embodied the strength of this collection.

Vauthier accentuation of the female body is strong and pervasive. He possesses a brilliant ability to navigate and articulate the geometry of each silhouette. The designer’s independent work has gained critical acclaim over the short seven years, amassing a collection of followers in fashion and the entertainment industry including Sofia Loren, Kate Bosworth, Beyonce, Lupita Nyong’o, Juliette Binoche and Charlize Theron.
